Part of June Days in Old Town Scottsdale
Room Location
Scottsdale Community Design Studio, 7506 E. Indian School Road

This event is full, but if you sign up for the wait list, you'll be notified by email if there is an opening.

Join us for a storytelling experience as you eat wonderful treats from Sweet Dee's Bakeshop in Old Town Scottsdale. Storyteller Bruce Wall talks about two iconic photos of Scottsdale and explains the backstory.  First, we’ll learn about a 1950s restaurant that was iconic in its day and traced its roots back to a store in the 1920s. The second story is about a woman who played an important part in the early development of the town and city. Treats are available while supplies last. Please register to avoid disappointment.

How to find Stories & Sweets

This presentation is hosted in the Community Design Studio, a building that looks like an old church (because it was!) and is on the northeast corner of 75th Street and Indian School Road.

We have limited parking on the west and north sides of the building, but you can park in the lot to the north at the Methodist Church.

This presentation is part of Stories & Sweets, a collection of stories shared throughout June. It is presented by the City of Scottsdale and Community Involvement Advisor Bruce Wall. There will be three additional Stories & Sweets on Tuesdays in June, including:

  • Week 3: Mystery and Murder in Old Town. Register
  • Week 4: Scottsdale and the Little Red Schoolhouse. Register

Each presentation is considered standalone. You can pick and choose which presentations you want to attend.
