The Hardboiled Discussion Group meets monthly and focuses on the gritty street-level realism of hardboiled detective fiction and its existential cousin, the noir novel. Past selections have included classic works by Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Jim Thompson and Patricia Highsmith, as well as today's current crop, including writers like James Ellroy, Sara Gran, and Walter Mosley.
September will feature John D. MacDonald's Cape Fear.
