The Arizona Black Rodeo — also known as the Arizona Invitational Black Rodeo — is one of the largest and most popular African-American rodeo events in the United States. It’s a vibrant celebration of Black and African-American culture, history, and heritage, featuring top cowboys and cowgirls from across the country competing in traditional rodeo events.
What It Is
Founded in 2011, the Arizona Black Rodeo is the flagship event of Black Rodeo USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth and the community through rodeo experiences and educational programs. It’s often described as “The Hottest Show on Dirt!” and has been named a USA Today Top 10 Rodeo for multiple consecutive years.
Location & Dates
The event is held annually at the Westworld of Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona (16601 N Pima Road). In 2026, it will take place September 4th, 5th, and 6th.

Mission & Impact
A portion of ticket sales supports the Black Rodeo USA Foundation, which invests in youth programs, educational initiatives, and community outreach nationwide. The rodeo aims to educate attendees about the rich history of Black cowboys and cowgirls, many of whom are underrepresented in mainstream rodeo culture.
