The Christmas story has many characters besides Christ himself: angels, Joseph, the Wise Men and shepherds… but one that stands out as central to the whole event is the Virgin Mary. No single woman in all of history has been so often imagined and painted. Come and learn the many facets of her symbolism and how different cultures identify her in ways unique to their own needs. It may bring a whole new dimension to “reading” your Christmas cards!
