Scottsdale Community Design Studio, 7506 E. Indian School Road

Join us for a unique storytelling session as you nibble on delicious treats from a local Old Town business. Be amazed as storyteller Bruce Wall presents the history of the Community Design Studio and artwork found throughout the building.

The Community Design Studio is likely a building you've passed many times. Located on the northeast corner of Indian School and 75th Street, this iconic building has had many lives and is home to several fun public art pieces. Seventy-four years ago, the Ascension Lutheran Church opened for Sunday service, but quickly outgrew the building and moved away. During this presentation, learn how the building was used 30 years before the city's purchase and how it is used today. Those aged 13 and older are welcome. Treats available while supplies last. Please register to help us plan for food quantities.

This presentation is part of Stories & Sweets, a collection of stories shared throughout June. It is presented by the City of Scottsdale and Community Involvement Advisor Bruce Wall. There will be three additional Stories & Sweets on Tuesdays in June, including:

  • Part 2: THE Place to be Seen and The Indomitable Woman of Scottsdale. Register
  • Part 3: Mystery and Murder in Old Town. Register
  • Part 4: Scottsdale and the Little Red Schoolhouse. Register

Each presentation is considered standalone. You don't have to attend any to attend the others.
